WARNING An Extreme Horror story. Not intended for sensitive audiences
Andy and Bridget like to travel. Their windowless van is their home. Speeding across the Texas countryside they pick up hitchhikers and weary travelers who see the pair as a nice couple showing southern hospitality. However, Andy and Bridget are not what they seem. In their plain looking van, there is no telling which town they will pass through or who will they pick up next.
The Van An Extreme Horror Story edition by Tim Miller Literature Fiction eBooks
I discovered Tim Miller's books through Amazon as well as word of mouth in the world of independent horror authors that have caused a resurgence of Extreme Horror/Splatterpunk that has proliferated since the digital press took off. I have held back from reviewing Miller's novels because after each one I am usually at a loss of where to begin. I recently picked up one of his latest novels entitled 'Rape Van' which by title alone left me wondering how he got through Amazon's approval process. The book sat on my E-Reader and a print copy on my shelf. I read some of it..thought about it...read some more ..tried to look away.......yet it kept creeping back under my skin and upon finishing I knew it was time for a review. If you are looking for literature or something classically written in the vein of Bram Stoker move on. There is nothing sophisticated about Tim Miller's writing. Yet it’s the reason his books have found an audience that has him moving up bestseller lists. Miller's writing is a lot like watching that horror movie that had next to no budget yet taking for what it is...it is nothing less than brilliant. Thoughts of such horror classics as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Devil's Rejects and The Hills Have Eyes come to mind yet Miller pushes way beyond the limits of those movies.
Rape Van is the story of psychopaths...multiple psychopaths and the path of murder and mayhem they cause. Each page drips in blood, torture and bodily evisceration...definitely not for those with a weak stomach. The story recycles multiple B-Horror cliches ….broken down travelers.....rural weirdos...bubbling law enforcement.....yet Tim Miller finds a way to make the story all his own and makes the B-Horror tropes and cliches worth revisiting. He also manages to create one of the most terrifying supporting characters I have ever read.
If you are a fan of brutal in your face Splatter-punk, Tim Miller is the way to go. Rape Van is full of WTF moments that make you question the sanity of the man who wrote such a novel. I guess the best way to describe it....its like a train-wreck....you just can't look away. You are left dreading what Miller will write next... yet in the deep, dark, forbidden recesses of your mind...you can't wait to read it!

The Van An Extreme Horror Story edition by Tim Miller Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Tim has written another great extreme story. His books should be made into movies. The Rape Van is great and has some great twists and non stop horror. You can't go wrong with any of Tim's books. Buy this book.
If you don’t know Tim Miller’s writing style than you don’t know what hell is like. Tim Miller creates a disturbing style of writing that not only gets under your skin, but also rape’s and brutalizes your mind. It feeds into your nightmares and kicks your inner soul in the balls.
Rape Van is like making you a pig being led to the slaughter and thoroughly being eviscerated with a cat of nine tails.
This first and foremost is not a book to take lightly. Any Tim Miller book is a book not to take lightly and unless you’re into total bloodshed and carnage, this is not for you. I warn anyone who decides to adventure into the darkened realm of Tim Miller. Rape Van is a twisted insanity of pain, victims and destruction of the human form.
The plot goes that Andy and Bridget are two travelers. They love the vast towns and cities they cross through. There van is without windows. The windowless van conceals a secret. It conceals many secrets. Andy and Bridget has secrets of pain, bloodshed, horror and lust.
For inside the van the horrible of horrors come to life and destroy all that enter in more than one way. Two personas, Bridget and Andy, a nice couple giving rides to hitchhikers, but that ride becomes the deep recesses of pain and suffering. The title of the book should explain it all.
If you’re a fan of J.F. Gonzalez's Survivor or anything by Greg F. Gifune, Bryan Smith, Jack Ketchum, Brian Keene, Gord Rollo, then Tim Miller is for you. Although I think Miller steps beyond the beyond in violence on page and creates memorable stories that the reader bleeds with.
Blood, gore, suffering, visceral depravity all sums up Tim Miller’s Rape Van. Not for the Harry Potter fan. Not for the glittery vampire lovers. Not for the Darcy expectations. This is for the serial killer’s in training.
Would I Return to This Again Tim Miller is an originality in his own, and I often adventure back into his darkened realm. While reading his visceral carnage, I must pace myself. I find myself having to give, hours or a day in-between his chapters. They are books that can be very quick reads, but also make one question their sanity, and yet that’s the beauty of Tim Miller’s writing.
Would I Recommend As I have stated to those who get or understand this type of writing. This is not a mere horror book, none of Tim miller’s books are mere horror stories, they are so much more. They feel like, and become the very mind set of a serial killer, or a mad man or woman inside the throes of insanity.

While the finish of the story on the whole was a little rough around the edges (see things I noticed at the end of the review), the pace was fast enough that the issues didn't detract from the story being told.
Some seriously messed up people in this book, none more so than that creepy little mistress of murder. She's enough to seed nightmares for months.
Horrific in some of its simplicity, Rape Van offers a twisted view into the lives of serial killers. It included some imaginative ideas and sadistic scenes. One wicked little ride that will likely scare the bejesus out of readers and turn stomachs of all but a hardened few gore veterans.
I would have liked more time spent with the victims, it felt a little rushed at times, which detracted from the impact of some of the scenes.
An easy read in one sitting, if you dare.
The first Tim Miller read for me, but it won't be the last.
A few things I noticed
Pg 9 - ...Why did you do that?" Mar(t)in screamed.
Pg 21 - Mar(t)in had gone completely hysterical...
Pg 56 - ...I'll get in(it) in the oven...
Pg 61 - chapter 6 needs to be on a new page.
Pg 189 - The(y) did pull back some, at least.
I absolutely loved the twists and turns in this book. With the way the story ended, I'm hoping for a part 2?? I own all of Tim's books now and the only negative thing I have to say about his books isThey are just not freaking long enough!! It's like I'm an addict waiting for a new book to come out. lol Keep writing and I'll keep reading. D
